Karen's life
Karen was a beautiful baby, always smiling
but slower at developing than other babies. It soon became apparent
that she had learning difficulties and so she went into special units
at the primary, junior and senior schools that her brother and sister
attended. However, she looked quite normal although young-looking
and very attractive. She tended to have tantrums occasionally but
I knew this was part of her condition - she was a lovely person.
Karen's
looks and innocence made her very vulnerable
I have only, since
losing Karen, realised just how vulnerable she was which is something
other parents need to be aware of when deciding what to do as their
children become adults.
